Are there any organizations you see doing particularly good works in New Orleans? Any businesses you feel we should "vote with our dollar" at? Is there anything you think we should be *doing* that's helpful?
beautiful image of our mystical gulf coast...mississippi portion...chilling to know that these peaceful waters swelled to a tital surge wave of 30 feet high which totally destroyed an entire populated region of our south in a blink of the eye...well that wave was followed by another giant wave...i think of it as the LOVE wave...thank you to all of the church volunteers and everyday people who came down here and has showed us nothing but good honest to GOD Love...people who showed us that they loved US and just wanted to do good and help us!! AWESOME REALITY!!
I am moving my 83 year old mother from Pass Christian, MS this weekend. It is still depressing as Hell, through progress is seen inch by inch. I guess now I can become like the rest of America and pretend that everything is back to normal 4 1/2 years later. I am proud of of what she has endured for the last years. It is ashame that the country has no clue and has for the most part forgotten Katrina. I will NEVER forget. I am changed forever. Thank you foR your coverage and photographs. You are a very talented artist and deserve the best of life. GOOD LUCK!
its funny how thing are. i was looking on the net to find out what type of mold was growing in my kitchen, so i could prove to my housemate that it IS deadly and he must keep the kitchen clean... when i came across this blog. The internet is so weird isn't it! I don't know you but i've just spent the last half an hour reading about what happened during the hurricane and i feel like your somebody i know thats gone through this thing. I'm from england and although of course i heard about what happened, i didn;t really get it, like how bad it was. I'm really glad to see that your mum got a new house and stuff and that things have worked out. i think you've done a really good thing by documenting what really happened because all i remember from the media was that people were looting and getting raped. its impact never reached me. your blog has really touched me man and made my red mold problem seem ridiculous! All the best and i expect that things will only get better for you and your family.
