Dead Baby Doll
Black Baby Doll and Limbs, Lower Ninth Ward, New Orleans
"Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), a staunch opponent of pork barrel spending, tried to block $453 million for two Alaska bridges that had been tucked into the recent highway bill. Coburn wanted to redirect the money to the Interstate 10 bridge across Lake Pontchartrain, a major thoroughfare that was severely damaged during Hurricane Katrina.
Sen. Ted Stevens, the veteran Alaska Republican, was dramatic in his response. "I don't kid people," Stevens roared. "If the Senate decides to discriminate against our state . . . I will resign from this body."

To Sen. Stevens: Don't let door hit you on the way out...
Let the asshole resign.
Bye Ted:
I can't say we'll miss you when you're gone...
Now if we could only get the other 40 or so incompetents out, maybe some good could come of all of this!

Force him to resign. He makes Conservatives like me look bad.
people that make threats (or promises) like that shouldn't be in public office. i hope they toss him out the door.
On behalf of everyone down here in South Louisiana, we thank Sen. Stevens for his past service and wish him the best of luck in his new endeavors.
We can only hope.
Please, for Gods sake, would somebody "discriminate" against Alaska and get that larcenous a-- hole the f---- out of there!!
Stevens has done nothing but crap on one of the most beautiful places in the world for many years now.His specialty is bribing welfarers with tax dollars while greasing corporate palms at everyone elses expense.
Aw, is his pork barrel shrinking...I doubt it. Someone should empty it, tuck him in it and barrel slide it down one of those glaciers.
If I may be allowed to qoute Bill Murray from "Ghostbusters" for the good senator from Alaska;
"someone with your qualifications would have no trouble finding a top-flight job in either the food service or housekeeping industries."
Hit the road ya pompous douchebag.
Fletch, up yours.
It's a TRUE Republican (Coburn) who is trying to get that money to Louisiana.
Crawl back in your hole of self-pity.
Umm. They're both Republicans.
I live in the town where Senator Stevens wants to build the bridge. The majority of my fellow islanders want to give the money back. We all feel like shit up here thinking that we could be doing so much more to help but are being constrained by our government. It's not our choice. Our 8,000 voices are minute and not being heard.
We don't want this damn bridge!
Our community has had fundraisers for the survivors of the hurricanes. We've sent goods, money and people to help. And we still want to do more.
It makes me feel so selfish and hopeless. Stupid Senator Stevens and his pointless spending.
